A New Adventure

After doing much research and stalking I had decided to jump in and try something new.  Usually I take a few months to really think about if it is something I want to do, if it is worth the money, do I have the time to invest in something new and just make sure it will be fun and worth the time and energy.  By saying I did research and stalking, which I did, doesn't mean I took days and days or even weeks to check it out.  My time was equal to approximately 48 hours of searches on google, searches on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram you name it, I searched it.  Then at a split of a moment decided, what the heck, let's do it.  So I did.

Welcome to my new website where I am an Executive Design Consultant (recently promoted!) with Lattice & Ivy.

www.latticeandivy.com/michele

Lattice & Ivy is a company where you can order online, attend a vendor show and place an order, attend or host a Design Bar and place an order there.  It is super easy and so much fun.

At Lattice & Ivy you get to choose your product, choose the pattern and color, choose the frame or band and the color, choose your font, monogram style or saying.  All 100% up to you and what you choose.  So many items to choose from that there are literally 1000's of options once you choose what item you would like to design.  I started off by ordering a tumbler and once it came, I was hooked.  The quality is unbelievable, the colors are bright and vibrant and the customer service was top notch.  All of this makes for a great company to work for.

I started off posting a few things on Facebook and Pinterest and from there my friends started asking questions and ordering product.  I thought to myself, how easy is this!  So from there I just continued to do what I was doing adding just a little bit more each time I posted and before I knew, I had 4 people signed up under me who are now on my team.  I couldn't be more thrilled to have such a great team and from there my team has continued to grow.  I love to be able to not only share my love for the Lattice & Ivy but to help others enjoy what they are doing for Lattice & Ivy as well.  How great is it to sell what you love and have fun while doing it!

Want to post a few things just so you can see how stinkin cute the product is!

Mouse pad with my name :)

Love how easy it is to design some simple note cards

If you live in the Seattle area like I do, you know this is a necessity at any Seahawks game

"C" is for Curtis, a friend of mine order these folded notecards to have on hand for any occasion

My daughter Taylor is a student at Washington State University otherwise known as WSU.  They are the Cougars or the Cougs as many say and as you can see their colors are crimson and grey.  Another game day necessity here in the state of Washington.

My friend Heather ordered this melamine platter to match her kitchen.  The colors work so well together and it matches her kitchen perfectly.

Shyah designed this iPhone case just for her with some bright colors in mind.  Love the pattern along with the polka dot band-so cute!

Just a few things to tempt you at this time.  Please hop on over to my website and check out what we have to offer.  Next week the fall catalog will be out with Holiday and Fall items, 44 pages of wonderful gifts for family, friends or yourself!  Also, the website will be going live next week with a brand new program that will allow you to pick an item and as you pick your pattern, color and such it will design it for you so you can see the final product before placing your order.  This will be huge for us!  At this time, we only have the catalog and swatches we can show you of the patterns and colors with no way of being able to show you what it will look like.  Needless to say, we are all very excited for the new website to go live.  Til then, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I can help you out.  Want a fall catalog??  Message me and I can get one to you as soon as they arrive.

Have a great day everyone!

Getting Back Into The Swing Of Things

After being absent for a couple of months due to computer melt downs, viruses and hackers I think I am ready to get back into the swing of things.  It is amazing how something as little as a computer virus which you don't see can be such a huge pain in the butt.  The computer was completed hacked and pretty much put to rest.  All pictures were saved to an external hard drive but who knows what all was taken or lost.  Needless to say, I have been a little apprehensive about what sites I go to, comment on or post on lately. I am slowly getting back to trusting sites and people in the internet world.  When it comes down to it, you just don't know.  It has taken a few months to gain the trust back but I think I am there. So with that being said I am back amongst those who surf the web, post on blogs and going to attempt to blog again.  I truly have missed it and will do my best to keep up with it.  That is; as long as no one hacks my laptop again!

Pulled up a few pictures of some projects.  Probably not the best shots but it is something to get started with.

Love this little book I made.  Celebrate Life.  So simple but yet means so much.

I love to hang layouts, canvases and anything made on the walls in my scrapbook room.  I use clear push pins in the very far corners being sure not to damage the pages to hang on the walls.  The great part is I can change them out at any time I want a different look in the room.

Always remember, Be You!

Taylor and Alex at the top.  One of my favorite pictures capturing how they enjoy each others company.

Old picture of carter showing just a little of the layout but one of my favorite shots of him when he was young.

And of course my next project to get started.  This snap book will be used for all of the everyday life events for the month of February.  It is sure to be filled quickly and I will be onto the next one for the month of March.

Signing off for today but will be back, I promise.

Pickles, Yes I Made Pickles

Started me 12 vacation doing a few things I like to do with Carter then something that I have never done, made pickles.  First, Carter and I headed off to the Tacoma Farmers Market that is held on Thursdays in the downtown business area.  I have been saying forever; well at least for the last year, that I wanted to go to this but always seem to forget.  I think mainly because it is  held on a Thursday and I am usually at work and forget to go afterwards on my way home.  So with not alot on the schedule for the day, we were off.

I have to say that it was very nice for a middle of the week market.  Alot of food vendors mainly because they feed all the corporate workers during their lunch hour but otherwise pretty good.  We will definitely go back.  Next we were off to Owen Beach for a little relaxation time.  Not much of a real beach but it does sit on the Pugent Sound so it is "real" water that heads out to sea, so it will do for now.  Just enough time there to make me want to drive to the real beach.

On the way home, we decided to stop at Duris Cucumber farm and look around at all the pickle makings and produce.  I love going here just to shop the cute farm stand, really more like a cute boutique but outside with produce and stuff.  It did not take long for us to start putting the makings for pickles in my basket; not what I intended to do at all but I got caught up in the moment!  You could say I was lead by peer pressure, everyone was doing it, loading cucumbers in their baskets, spices, vinegar, jars you name it.  Not before long you could say I was stocked up on everything I would need to produce a few jars of kosher and bread & butter pickles.

Once home I started slicing into spears for the kosher pickles.  I loved the smell of the fresh cut cucumbers and the vinegar mixture coming to a boil, it was already starting to smell like pickles in the house!

After jarring up the kosher pickles I was then on to making the bread and butter pickles, basically the same process just a different cut and lovely smell coming from my stockpot.

Not sure that I got the canning part down just right but being the first time of doing it, I didn't think it was too bad.  I probably could have stuffed a few more pickle slices in the jars but didn't want to go overboard.

Now the waiting begins, 3 weeks to let them cure then the real test will begin.  The taste test.  I am hoping that they turn out good enough that my family will want more.  Then, I will go and buy more supplies and maybe even branch out a little bit more by making more jars, and experimenting with other flavors.  So we will wait and see.

Ok, Another New Start!

As most of the year is over, I have come to realize that I set my sights on something that just was not meant to be at the time, keeping up with my blog.  Or so called blog....

So once again, I will try my best to update, post some pictures, get creative and probably brag about my kids some.  This is what one does on a blog; right?

I always have good intentions but as we know life just sometimes gets in the way.  The kids in school, sports, clubs, carpooling, work, cleaning the house, taking care of the dogs, taking care of the family, laundry, feeding the family; I think you get my drift.  Just plain busy.  But now with my oldest daughter Alex back at school and my middle daughter a new freshman at school, that just leaves my husband, Tim, son Carer and the two golden retrievers whom we call our sons to take care of.  And yes, I am the only female in a house with four boys!  HELP!

Fortunately I have my scrapbook room where I can retreat to when I need some "me" time.  I can close the door and they know to leave Mom alone for a while.  For this I am thankful that they "get it".

With school getting ready to start right after Labor Day for Carter I will be planning on spending much time in there getting caught up on so many projects I need to get done.  I think the only problem I will have is knowing where I want to get started.  First stop will probably clearing my table off which has become a free for all dump site, my fault totally.  This will be yet another challenge I will face going into the last part of the year.

So please join me as I do my best to keep up on blogging about life in the Liebig house.  Who knows, I may surprise you by posting everyday; maybe even twice a day.  Say What???
Til then.

A New Year, a New Beginning

Well after a very long break from not blogging (again), I am back to a it.  It is a new year and a new beginning.  A time for new experiences, changes, ways of doing things differently and sticking to it.
Every year at this time people make their resolutions for the new year and how many really stick to it?  I know I am all excited and dedicated the first few weeks then at that point it slowly goes down hill.  It doesn't matter if I am trying to lose a few pounds, stick to a new routine, scrapbook more, cook more healthier meals it always seems to die off after a few months.  Well, not this year!

For Christmas two of my presents were a  new laptop (woohoo) and along with that the Silhoutte Cameo; just a few things I was wanting to "up" my scrapbooking abilities.  These two items alone will motivate me to work more on getting some much needed scrapbooking done.

So with this already being the 6th day of January, I am already behind on sticking with my new beginning but with today being a Sunday and it is football day (GO SEAHAWKS!) I will be able to hide out in my scrapbook room and get started.  Today I will clean off my table, organize a few things, take a few pictures, hopefully post them, and start my new year off with a bang.
It is going to be a good year, I can feel it!
And of course, I will scrapbook all about it :)

Scary Day in Saratoga Springs, Utah

This morning I got word that the mountain we lived on the side of was on fire and it wasn't looking good.  The pictures started out looking like just a wildfire on the top of the mountain but as the day went on, it got worse.

Our old subdivision; Jacobs Ranch where we use to live was evacuated in the early afternoon along with Stillwater and others.

This is a picture of a neighboring subdivision early this morning.  The smoke is thick and dark, not a good sign.  They said the winds had picked up and it was changing direction and moving fast.  At the time this picture was taken, it had only burned 750 acres.  By the time the National news had come on, Lester Holt reported it had burned 4000 acres.  This is one fast moving fire.

My old neighbor Joy took this picture of the fire plane from her driveway.  She lives on street up from us.  To me, this is a little too close.  I later saw on her facebook that someone commented that this plane saved their house. How surreal.

The picture above is of our old street.  We lived two doors down from the house on the right.  This picture was taken at 10:30 this morning so you can only imagine how close it is now.  I am hoping that everyone is safe and as one neighbor said "I just hope we have a house to come home to".
Please keep the community of Saratoga Springs, Utah, the fire fighters, police and all emergency personnel in your thoughts.
